In many cases, professional pruning is all that’s needed. Removing dead, damaged, or overextended limbs can improve a tree’s health, reduce the likelihood of storm damage, and extend its useful life for many years. In fact, we routinely help clients preserve trees that others have recommended removing, often extending their service life through proper pruning and risk management.
At the same time, a tree’s condition is only part of the equation. Risk is determined not only by the likelihood of failure, but also by what could be damaged if failure occurs. A declining tree in an open field may present very little immediate concern, while that same tree over a home, driveway, or frequently occupied area may warrant a much different recommendation.
